Story Telling Photography For Denver City Lax
.
Photography for a non profit organization, Denver City Lax, was one of the highlights of my year in photography. I just can’t say enough about the good work these folks do. And I can’t over emphasize how much fun I had making these photographs.
Denver City Lax is a non profit organization dedicated to inner city youth in Denver’s underserved neighborhoods. By bringing the game of lacrosse to the inner city, City Lax provides educational and enrichment opportunities to kids who otherwise might have strayed. Colorado’s thriving economy is certainly a boon for the privileged. But hardship can knock on anyone’s door.
Denver City Lax is about teaching team skills in the game of Lacrosse, and so much more. Kids nurtured through City Lax for the past dozen years are thriving in school. They’re graduating from big time universities. And they’re giving back.
At this time of year, when a quick thousand is spent on a new suit or dress, when holiday ski weekends and pretty boxes under the tree light up our lives, consider giving a little to those who will benefit the most. Please check out Denver City Lax and don’t forget to click on the “Get Involved” page.
